The editorial desk

Useful, clear and
earned.

Journey & Roam is built around practical choices for ordinary weeks. The publication earns attention by being specific, fair and straightforward about its limits.

01 / What earns a story

Every piece starts with a real situation.

We publish practical reporting, advice, guides and features across movement, useful kit, active travel and everyday life. A story needs a clear point of view, useful detail, a decision or action a reader can take, and an honest trade-off.

02 / Reviews and testing

A review is a verdict, not a first impression.

We only use the Review label where the product, service or place has been used enough to make a meaningful judgement. Each review should say what was tested, for how long, in what conditions, who it suits, who should look elsewhere, and what changed our mind.

03 / Independence

Commercial relationships do not buy conclusions.

If a product is supplied, hosted or supported by a partner, we will say so. A commercial relationship never changes the verdict. We do not present researched information as first-hand testing.

04 / Updates and corrections

Useful information has a date on it.

We update guides when prices, products, routes or practical advice materially change. If we make a meaningful error, we correct the story and make the correction clear. Readers can raise a correction through the editorial contact route once it is live.
